Prevention
The National Sexual Violence Prevention Programme
We offer free, high quality sexual violence prevention education across all 9 High schools within the Scottish Borders. We are part of the Rape Crisis Scotland National Prevention network and use a specially designed and evaluated resource pack. We deliver workshops throughout all year groups depending on school priorities; consent workshops are always delivered, usually in conjunction with others such as What is Sexual Violence. Workshops are broken down into age-appropriate sessions and are all participatory and evidence based.
Young people and teachers alike give consistently positive feedback regarding our workshops.
Equally Safe at School: a whole school approach
We promote Rape Crisis Scotland national resource Equally Safe at school (ESAS), this web-based resource allows schools to take a whole schools approach to Gender based Violence (GBV). As part of ESAS, we can offer teacher training alongside ongoing support to establish and maintain the ESAS programme.
Equally Safe at Colleges and Universities
Equally safe at Colleges and Universities (ESCU) , an initiative to tackle GBV in colleges and Universities nationally and we promote this to our local institutions. We currently deliver training to both Borders College and Heriot Watt staff as part of the training element.
